That the American Association of Orthodontists recommends having children see an orthodontic specialist at age 7. While it is recommended to see a specialist, not every child necessarily needs early intervention. These are specific conditions that Dr. Nayak and Dr. Yim will be looking for and surprisingly crooked teeth aren’t one of them.
Why age 7?
- By age 7 most children have a mix of adult and baby teeth.
- With earlier evaluations, Dr. Nayak and Dr. Yim is able to spot some conditions that are better to address and correct if they are identified at a younger age.

- Jaw growth and position
- Protruding front teeth
- Harmful oral habits
- Tongue and lip positioning
- Teeth positioning
